How we train
We designed and implemented a robust training program centering around developing & maintaining proficiency with fire, rescue, and EMS skills and tactics.
Every week, the entire department trains together to focus on 34 specific tactics that we require to be tested on every year. These focus on the less frequent and high threat events we respond to.
Command Training
Twice a month, the department meets in a classroom setting to discuss recent emergencies, learn about fire science and fire ground operations, and run simulated fires as a group. Effective communication and teamwork is essential on large events and this is the best time for our volunteers to stay sharp and focused when it matters most.
Feedback & Teamwork
After each rep on our training ground, the crew and coaches meet to discuss what went good and what needs to be improved.
